#memoriesalive

"I was talking to some friends yesterday, and I remembered of one day that was a turning point on my life. Everytime I remember that day I smile, cause It was one of the greatest moments I ever lived.

When I was younger, I used to skate. I was part of a team called Capital Speed, it was a speed skating team and I was the best of the country on my category. I would train five days a week and used to go to the gym three days a week, my life was all about skating.

I used to train in the Parque da Cidade Sara Kubitschek in Brasília, on the parking lot 7. It was very dangerous cause there's always cars passing by, and for several times athletes were almost hit.

In 2008 there was a championship in Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian Championship. I was getting prepared for that event for about six months, and at the time it arrived I got really nervous. I had       stomachaches, headaches, nauseas... the whole trip was extremely exciting and agitated.

In that championship I've got five races: 100 meters against the clock, 300 meters, 500 meters, 800 meters and 1000 meters. All my effort and dedication finally paid back, I won the five races and got the trophy of best athlete female menors.

It was definitely a unforgettable moment. When the medals were on my neck and the trophy on my hands, it was the best feeling of satisfaction and pride that I ever had in my life.

I miss that time, I was very happy and I would have a lot of fun in the competitions with my friends. I used to travel for others states and meet new people that have the same passion that I did. It's all gone now, but I keep the memories alive."

#Happyhour

Dear Becca,

As requested I've searched about some activities for our employees do together outside work, to help them to get to know each other better and work better as a team. I chose the top three considering the pros and cons of each one.

The first option is acting classes, there are many workshops in the city, some of them are even offered to cater to the needs of office workers and amateurs. The advantage of acting classes is that can help you control your emotions and gain focus, besides letting go all of the tension and de-stressing the body. The downside is that we have many employees and it would be necessary many workshops, because the number of people can affect the efficiency of the lesson.

The second option is dancing classes, it can be ballroom classes or even street dance, we can do a voting with our employees to decide. The benefits of this option are that people will have fun, laugh, and relax while they're dancing. The disadvantage however is that some people can get uncomfortable dancing in front of others, cause they might not know how to dance (although that's one of the goals of the class).

The last option is go camping in the weekend, they can go to the beach, climb to the mountains, or stay near to a lake. A guide would be necessary in case they going to some place far away. The good things about this option is that people can get a break of the rush life in the city and enjoy the natural habitat, do campfires, wake up in some calm place. The drawbacks include the fact that you need the equipments and someone to guide, what make this activity more expensive.

My personal preference is to offer the employees dancing classes. It's fun, and even if the person is shy, he/she can get throw this and enjoy the time with his/her coleagues. Not counting that it isn't too expensive and the people will learn how to dance. Anyway, I'll leave the final decision with you.

       Regards,

#alcoholic

"I've got an alcohol problem, everytime I go out with my friends I drink a lot and in the other day I can't remember a thing. I can't stop drinking, not to mention that I'm spending too much money on alcohol. What do I do? Please help me. Kristen."

Hi Kristen, many people have this problem but most not assume, congrats for having courage.
First of all try to spend some time without drinking, for you to know if you're addicted. If you are, consider looking for your family help, if you're not just try to do some things that I'm gonna tell you.

A good way to stop drinking or at least reduce the frequency, is going out with friends that don't drink. As they'll not drink you probably will not too, works as an influence on you. What's the point of drinking alone, right?

When you're out with friends that drink consider limiting the amount of money you have on you and leave your credit card at home. Hold yourself to that amount, you're gonna think twice before you order another expensive alcohol drink.

You could also start with drinking a coca or other non alcoholic drinks. If you start by drinking a soda instead of drinking an alcoholic drink first, you will reduce the chance of you getting drunk quickly.

Alternatively, try to stay busy.  A big reason for drinking continuously from whatever is in front of you is lack of activity and sitting or standing next to a drink. Dancing, talking, playing pool or darts, can all keep you occupied over and above the drinking. You may even forget to drink.

Most importantly, has own domain. Know how control yourself in parties and dinners around people that are drinking. If you know that's gonna make you feel bad in the other day try to avoid or pass the limit.

Hope this helps. Good luck and don't give up!

#Brasilia

One of the youngest country capitals of the world is Brasília. Inaugurated only 53 years ago, this city was designed by the architect Lucio Costa, who made a pilot plan, which also named the central part of the city: Plano Piloto.

The public buildings, as the National Congress, the Planalto Palacy, the Ministries esplanade and the Cathedral, were designed by Oscar Niemeyer, a world known urbanist and planner.

Also known as the Capital of Hope, Brasília is considered a Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO -  United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural. It means all monuments, buildings and sites in "Plano Piloto" has historical, aesthetic, archaeological, scientific, ethnological or anthropological values and must be preserved, in order to allow the legacy we have received from the past and live in the present be transmitted to future generations.

Inaugurated in only 4 years by the President Juscelino Kubitsckek, this city is the fourth most populous of the country, with more than two million inhabitants.

Brasília has many places to visit and appreciate, and also places of entertainment . For example, the Bank of Brazil Cultural Center, where the most important exhibitions of works and cinema in Brasilia are presented, from great artists to alternative cinema.

Moreover, there are other sights worth visiting such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, a catholic church, the National Theatre, where the most important plays are presented, the Multisport Center Ayrton Senna, stage of the soccer world championship, the Alvorada Palacy, where the President of Brazil lives, and many others.

My favorite place in Brasília is "Pontão", located in South Lake. A place known for being a special gastronomic center of the city, gathering six of the best restaurants of the town, from where we can observe a wonderful view of the lake and the bridges. The vibration is kind of beach, and people often go there to have fun and to enjoy time with family and friends.

Beyond the sights, the capital of Brazil has many places to go out, such as cinemas, restaurants, cafes, parks, and some walktrails and waterfalls. It's a beautiful city, and a good place to live.

#mobilephones

Nowadays people use the mobile phone everyday and all day, it has become an addiction for many people. Besides being used for calls, it can also support a wide variety of services, such as text messaging, MMS, email, internet.
Use the mobile phone has many advantages, you can carry on with you so you don't miss important calls. Beyond being used only for pleasure like listening to music, texting friends, playing games.
On the other hand, mobile phones can limit your face to face time with family and friends. Can cause problems if you use while you are driving, and in most of cases hand phones are really expensive.
Therefore has to be use with moderation, despite bringing us considerable facilitations, it can be dangerous if we use incorrectly and at the wrong time.
